(1) To be awarded the juvenile
probation officer basic certificate, a person must:
(a) have completed a 40 hour basic training course as provided by the
Montana law enforcement academy or equivalent training as determined by the
peace officers standards and training advisory council; and
(b) have served at least one year with the
present employing agency and have completed a one year probation period and be
satisfactorily performing their duties as attested to by the head of that
agency.
(2) A juvenile probation officer who has
successfully met the employment standards, qualifications and the educational
requirements of this rule and who has completed a one year term of employment
shall, upon application to the peace officers standards and training advisory
council, be issued a basic certificate by the council certifying that the
juvenile probation officer has met all standards of this state.
