(1) The APRN shall:
(a) perform and document comprehensive assessments, as appropriate to the client or client group, by:
(i) collecting, synthesizing, and analyzing data, using nursing principles and nursing process at an advanced level; and
(ii) using evidence-based research data in clinical decision-making.
(b) establish and document an appropriate diagnosis, treatment plan, and strategy of care based on the individual assessment that addresses:
(i) client needs;
(ii) priorities of care;
(iii) the need for collaborations when appropriate;
(iv) method by which treatment will be evaluated; and
(v) plan of action for appropriate follow-up or referral to other health care providers.
(c) provide and document expert guidance and education when working with clients, families, populations, and other members of the health team; and
(d) document referrals when a client's health status and needs exceed the APRN's certification and competencies.
