(1) All professional education units shall host an accreditation review every seven years or on an adjusted schedule based upon coordination with national accreditation or upon request of an institution or the Board of Public Education.
(2) Joint visitations and cooperation with other accrediting agencies will be encouraged.
(3) A review by the National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education (NCATE) of the same material covered in subchapters 2, 3, 4 and 6 may be accepted in lieu of the state review.
(4) Units are required to engage in an ongoing self-study of professional educator preparation programs.
